1925 The Buescher - True-tone Low Pitch Alto Saxophone
This beautiful silverplate Buescher alto saxophone is 100 years old this year and it is unbelievable to me just how well it plays for a vintage horn of this era. The body and silver plate is in wonderful condition throughout. There are a couple of very tiny dings only.
It features a front F key which makes it very playable for modern horn players. The layout is comfortable, although the left hand pinky table takes some getting used to. This horn has a stunning tone and plays wonderfully in tune. The original neck is in excellent condition.
It has just been fully serviced and had 6+ pads replaced. The original case is in very good condition, however, you may want to add some padding to keep this beauty safe. The handle has perished, so will need a new handle.
This instrument is being sold on consignment, so it’s sold as is.
The saxophone belonged to Prince Ratu Kumara Pandji Sakti, the head of the Indonesian Vajrayana Buddhist lineage. He played occasionally with various bands including John Lee Hooker in the USA, using this instrument.
